Irish eInvoicing guide
Full and simplified Irish VAT invoices
The full and simplified profiles select different Revenue-sourced invoice-information checks. Choosing a profile tells the validator which document scenario you intend; it does not establish that the transaction is eligible for simplified treatment.
Full profile
The default profile expects supplier and customer particulars, descriptions, quantities, unit prices, VAT breakdowns and totals applicable to a full VAT invoice.
Simplified profile
Revenue permits simplified invoices in specified circumstances. The checker can test document-visible particulars and the stated total, while sector-practice eligibility may remain undetermined.
Use the correct profile
Validate the same scenarios your business issues in practice. Keep transaction eligibility decisions in tax and accounting controls rather than inferring them solely from an XML marker.
