Irish eInvoicing guide
EN 16931 and Peppol BIS Billing explained
EN 16931 defines a semantic invoice model and validation rules. Peppol BIS Billing is a CIUS that restricts and implements EN 16931 for Peppol billing processes. Passing document checks does not transmit a document over the Peppol network.
EN 16931 validation
The official CEN/TC 434 artefacts test supported UBL and CII documents against the published semantic and syntax rules.
Peppol document validation
Peppol adds profile identifiers, code-list restrictions and business rules. InvoiceReady.ie can apply those document checks to UBL Invoice and CreditNote files.
Transport is separate
Participant registration, discovery, access-point security, delivery and acknowledgements are network services. They require an access-point arrangement and are outside this checker.
